ACCESSIBILITY

Statement of Commitment

In accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA, 2005), LDS Consultants Inc. is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of circumstance and ability. We are committed to treating people with disabilities in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence.

The following text outlines our current efforts to implement appropriate measures to ensure that our workplace, our website, and our documents meet the AODA requirements.  As we gain a better understanding of the requirements and implementation of AODA accomodations, this Statement of Commitment will be updated to reflect current efforts.

Our Workplace

We strive to ensure that our office is an accessible environment.

  • The office is wheelchair accessible, including sidewalk ramps, accessible entry, and includes wheelchair accessible washroom facilities

  • Service animals are permitted in the office, and to the boardroom for visitors to our office.  Please note, due to safety concerns, service animals are not permitted in our laboratory, unless the handler can demonstrate that the animal has been trained from a recognized program, and the handler can provide assurance that they will maintain full care and control of the animal.

  • Persons with disabilities (staff or visitors) may use their own assistive devices as required.

Information and Communication

LDS Website - Whilst we strive to adhere to the current guidelines and standards for accessibility, it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the website and we are currently working to achieve this. Be aware that due to the dynamic nature of the website, minor issues may occasionally occur as it is updated regularly. We are continually seeking out solutions that will bring all areas of the site up to the same level of overall web accessibility.

LDS Reports - Technical Reports and Background Studies which are prepared in support of our Client's project can be provided in an AODA compliant format, upon request.  Additional costs for AODA compliant documents will not be charged, beyond the regular production costs which would otherwise normally be incurred.

Recruitment & Training

In the recruitment process for new staff, the Careers page on the LDS website confirms that accommodations can be made during the recruitment and onboarding process for applicants and new staff, upon request.

An Individual Accommodation Plan can be prepared in consultation with new and existing employees, to ensure that their specific requirements are met, so that they can carry out their duties in an appropriate manner. LDS may request an evaluation by an outside medical expert (or other experts) to assist in determining how accommodations can be implemented.

LDS is committed to providing training to our staff on the requirements of the accessibility standards referred to in the AODA. Training will be appropriate to the function of the employees. Records of AODA training will be maintained by LDS, for current staff and new hires.
