Current Job Postings - Geotechnical Engineer

We are currently looking to fill a full-time position for an Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer. Responsibilities of the role will typically include:

  • Supporting project development and delivery, project management;

  • Project management, including preparation of proposal documents and managing project staff, schedule and budgets to ensure that project timelines are maintained;

  • Interpreting field and laboratory data, undertaking data reduction and geotechnical analyses, and preparation of technical reports;

  • Overseeing, assisting with and / or undertaking field work and site work for site characterization, inspection and geotechnical certification on various development and construction projects;

  • Liaising with clients and contractors, and functioning as a key participant in project meetings; and,

  • Mentoring junior staff and colleagues, and assisting with in-house training activities.


Requirements of the successful candidate:

  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the province of Ontario, with 5+ years of relevant working experience since graduation, preferably in a consulting environment;

  • Preference will be given to candidates with a Bachelor’s or post-graduate degree in a geo-engineering discipline such as Civil Geotechnical Engineering, Geo-Environmental Engineering, or Engineering Geology;

  • Strong report writing skills and effective communications are essential. A sample of a written work (report or document) that you have prepared will be requested. It will be your responsibility to remove client and site details to maintain project confidentiality if the document is not already available in the public domain;

  • Have a firm understanding of fundamentals of technical analysis and familiarity with geotechnical design software is an asset (i.e., SlopeW);

  • Successful candidates will be expected to be well organized, have the ability to manage multiple projects, and able to carry out assignments with minimal supervision; and,

  • Valid driver’s license, clean driver’s abstract, and own vehicle (company vehicle(s) may be available for use on occasion) – travel costs and expenses are reimbursed.

Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in multi-disciplinary environments, with experience and / or familiarity with hydrogeological analyses, civil and water resources engineering, and environmental engineering.
